Situation calculus for controller synthesis in manufacturing systems with first-order state representation

Manufacturing is transitioning from a mass production model to service in which facilities ‘bid’ produce products. To decide whether bid for complex, previously unseen product, facility must be able synthesize, on the fly, process plan controller that delegates abstract manufacturing tasks supplied recipe available resources. Often processes depend data and objects (parts) they consume. formalize this aspect we need adopt first-order representation of state processes. First-order representations are commonly considered reasoning about action AI, here show can leverage wide literature Situation Calculus ConGolog programs kind manufacturing. With such formalization available, investigate how synthesize controllers setting. We also identify two important decidable cases—finite domains bounded theories—for provide techniques actually controller.
